Things have been a little quiet here at Wood Badge Alabama. The Wood Badge Reunion was a big success at ScoutFest last month but there has not been much to talk about in terms of the next Wood Badge Course in the Greater Alabama Council. That’s all about to change. The entire staff gathered for orientation in Arab, Alabama. I may be a little biased but I think this will be one of the best group of staffers we have ever had, and that’s saying a lot.

Scoutmaster John Trichell led us through the day as his Assistant Scoutmasters outlined what was expected from their staff. Presentations were assigned and we all feasted on some great grub from Grubmaster Bill Rice and his staff. If this was any indication, we will eat well on this course.

What about our participants? I am happy to say that we already have a group of scouters signed up for the course. We are no where near full but that is no reason to be complacent if you are thinking of attending. Once the new year is here, we expect people to start signing up. It will have been a year since the last course and it will be at least a year until the next course. This should be a very popular course and we want you to attend.

Are you a Wood Badge Alumni? Send someone from your unit. Are you a new cub scout leader and don’t think this applies to you? Far from it. I took Wood Badge after a year in cub scouts and it helped me tremendously. Not only as a cub┬áleader but it helped me get my boys ready to become a boy scout.

If you are ready to sign up, just click on the button to the right. If you want a brochure to send to a friend, download it here. And of course send them back to WoodBadgeAlabama.com for more information.
